Dambusters' Anniversary
It was lovely to see the item on the BBC News about the flypast of the Lancaster bomber over the Derwent reservoir to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Dambusters raid. I'm not so old that I can remember it but it does bring back memories of making model aircraft from kits like Airfix back in the 60s. My favourite planes that I glued together were the Lancaster, The B-17 Flying Fortress, the Sunderland Flying boat and the Consolidated B24 Liberator. All quite large planes, never did make any of the fighters like the Spitfire, Hurricane or Mustang P51.
